DEVELOPMENT PROGRESS

To date over R 7,500,000 has been invested in the site through the extraordinary generosity of donors. The facilities include a large dining hall, large conference hall, small conference room, fully equipped modern kitchen, ablutions, a house for the SUIS staff, a house for the Em’seni Manager, a self-contained apartment for 9 SUIS Summit Team members, a swimming pool, a landscaped playing field with underground irrigation, and accommodation which can cater for 156 guests.

Landscaping has taken place and the natural beauty of the environment gives much pleasure. The shaded terrace on the banks of the Tugela River which flows past, is a stunning natural facility which has been cleared of alien trees and vegetation.



FUTURE CAPITAL DEVELOPMENT

The revised Master Plan of Em’seni was completed in 2011 with the assistance of Philip Thornhill of TC Design Architects, Durban. He has advised on the standards for heights, roofs, colors, proposed positioning and style of buildings and sport and leisure facilities. Any development must follow the Master Plan.

The cost of completing the Master Plan is estimated to be some R10 million.
